a bit of my own messy life...
Thanks for stopping by! I'm excited you found me and want to know a little more about me! I am a wedding photographer based out of Las Vegas. I love to read, travel, run, and eat good food. But, above all else, I am a mom to 2 amazing children and wife to the love of my life, Jason. You'll be hearing a lot about them here! They are the reason I started this messy journey to become healthy & fit.
February 2012 I was at the heaviest weight I have ever been. I was tired all the time, had zero energy, and lost all faith that I would ever fit into my old pre-baby jeans. I knew that I had to do something soon because I wanted to be a good example to our kids on being healthy and active. So, I made a drastic move and out of desperation, joined the Las Vegas Athletic Club that month. For those of you who know me, you understand how drastic of a move this really was for me. I'd never joined a gym before. I was scared, no scratch that, I was petrified to join a gym. My vision of a gym was a bunch of buff people walking around and laughing at us non-athletic types (read: out of shape types). Well, fast forward to today, I'm an avid runner, I enjoy working out (most of the time) I am eating healthy (again, most of the time), my family is eating healthy, and we're way more active than ever! I love traveling all over the country for half marathons, and getting my family and anyone else involved in this crazy, messy journey! I'm always signing up and training for the next race.
I've started this blog to help keep myself motivated and accountable, but I also want it to be a place where you can come to find motivation too! Throughout this journey, I've found so much support from close friends and family and I am so thankful for having such an amazing support group. But, what's really kept me going has been the comments from people saying that I've actually inspired them to make changes in their lives and the messages from far away friends asking me how they can get started. Seeing those close to me making small changes in their eating habits and exercise is awesome. Never in a million years would I have ever thought I could motivate anyone to make healthy changes in their lives, but I am so happy with where this journey has brought me. This is really just the start and I am even more excited to see where it takes us next!
