Week 1 of Half Marathon Training | Recap

Of course my first week of officially starting my half marathon training ends up being a busy week for me, but I think it was still off to a good start!  I also measured myself on the 1st and I lost 2.5 inches from my thighs and almost an inch from my calves.  The rest of my measurements stayed the same.  I was kinda bummed about that, but I know that my eating habits haven't been so great lately, so I can't complain too much about it!  Here's the training recap:

Monday: 4 miles : 45 mins.  outdoors

Tuesday: Strength Training : 1 hr.

Wednesday:  3 miles: 30 mins.  treadmill

Thursday: Strength Training: 1 hr. 

Friday & Saturday: REST

Sunday: 6 miles : 1 hr.  treadmill

We photographed 2 weddings on Friday & Saturday so I definitely did not work out those days.  But, based on Sunday's performance, I'm starting to believe that this 13.1 mile run may actually be possible! I'm also finding that I am not loathing the treadmill as much I used to.  The Las Vegas heat is no fun to run in and going to the gym at a convenient time for me in the morning really works right now.  We'll see how things go as the weather cools down and I can start taking my runs outdoors.  Bring on week 2!
