Half Marathon Training | Week 8

Last week I posted how great I was feeling about getting back on track and so far so good!  I still need to work on my diet ie. not so much cheating!  But, I've been staying on track with my runs and workouts (Woohoo!!) even with life being so busy and hectic some days.  Although Diego is in year round school, we still want to embrace the feeling of summer fun and activities so we've signed the kids up for swimming lessons on top of their gymnastics and basketball.  Yup, I'll be playing taxi for the next few weeks for sure!  What's your summer schedule like?  Busy or relaxing?  I'm hoping to fit in some relaxing time soon!!

Here's the rundown of last week's training!

Monday:  1 hr. PIT (Pure Intensity Training) Class

Tuesday: 4 mile run (2 treadmill & 2 track) then ab work

Wednesday:  1 hr. PIT (Pure Intensity Training) Class

Thursday: 1 hr. Strength Training Session with Personal Trainer

Friday:  - REST

Saturday: 3 mile treadmill run & ab work

Sunday: 9 mile run complete with runner's high!  It felt so good to run outside & I was able to run at the average pace I want to run the half, so it was perfect!

Total Miles:  16 miles

Last week I also got a new pair of sneakers, which I really needed!  I stuck to what I know and got the Brooks Ravenna 5s and they did great on my long run on Sunday.  And be sure to come back tomorrow to read about our experience with trying to watch American Ninja Warrior live finale taping here in Vegas.....

Aren't they pretty?!? What's your favorite running shoe?
