I haven't always loved coffee, but thanks to Starbucks and The Coffee Bean and their yummy flavored coffees, I became a full fledged coffee drinker. I don't really drink the caramel lattes and macchiatos anymore (too much sugar & calories!) but I do enjoy a nice cup of regular coffee in the morning with a splash of almond milk. No sugar needed, I'm sweet enough already ;)
Today is National Coffee Day and lots of places, such as Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme are giving free cups of coffee! Check out the list of freebies on USA TODAY!
So, in honor of National Coffee Day, I thought I'd share 3 benefits of coffee with you all today so we don't feel so bad about our little caffeine addiction!
- Tons of health benefits! Moderate coffee drinking—between 1 and 5 cups daily—may help reduce risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, as well as Parkinson’s disease, and type 2 Diabetes, liver disease, and heart failure.
- Coffee can help you burn fat..well, not if you order a venti mocha frapuccino with extra whip but, caffeine can help to boost your metabolism. One or two cups a day can increase your metabolic rate by up to 10 %
- A cup of coffee can sharpen your memory and keep you alert! But, you knew that already, didn't you?
