3 Health Benefits of Coffee

I haven't always loved coffee, but thanks to Starbucks and The Coffee Bean and their yummy flavored coffees, I became a full fledged coffee drinker.  I don't really drink the caramel lattes and macchiatos anymore (too much sugar & calories!) but I do enjoy a nice cup of regular coffee in the morning with a splash of almond milk.  No sugar needed, I'm sweet enough already ;)

So, in honor of National Coffee Day, I thought I'd share 3 benefits of coffee with you all today so we don't feel so bad about our little caffeine addiction!

  1. Tons of health benefits! Moderate coffee drinking—between 1 and 5 cups daily—may help reduce risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, as well as Parkinson’s disease, and type 2 Diabetes, liver disease, and heart failure.
  2. Coffee can help you burn fat..well, not if you order a venti mocha frapuccino with extra whip but, caffeine can help to boost your metabolism. One or two cups a day can increase your metabolic rate by up to 10 %
  3. A cup of coffee can sharpen your memory and keep you alert! But, you knew that already, didn't you?
