Although I was super pumped to get back on track for week 2, my body had other plans. I ended up getting really sick last Monday. I was coughing, had body aches, fever, sore throat, the works! I felt terrible. I didn't work out all week and I hardly had an appetite. I did stick to Whole 30 approved foods when I manage to eat something. I ate chicken broth and Jason found a pre-made chicken soup from Trader Joe's that didn't have noodles so it fit the Whole 30 bill. Unfortunately, the way I was feeling, I had to take some cough drops and I added honey to my tea every time, which technically are not Whole30 approved. By the time Friday came around, I still wasn't feeling too good, I hadn't worked out all week, my house was a mess, and I hardly got any work done.
Once the weekend rolled on out, I was starting to feel a little better and my appetite was most definitely coming back ;) We were hoping to get the grill on and Jason would bbq some steaks but it ended up raining and thundering all day and into the evening. Still feeling sick, there was no way I wanted to turn on the stove and cook. The hubs didn't feel like cooking either, so we resorted to our tried and true pizza order. Ugh, can you believe I had pizza again?!? My will power is zilch.
At this point I can't honestly say I'm on week 3 of Whole 30. I should feel like a failure and I kinda do. But, at the same time I have been doing so much better than I was. Clearly I haven't been as strict as I should be with Whole 30 and paleo foods, but I am doing WAY better than I had been and I think that should count for something, right? Now that I am pretty much over being sick, I started back up on my workouts & runs. My meals this week have been Paleo/Whole30 approved. I plan to keep that up by making sure I have good wholesome food readily available at home and have a good plan set for the weekend. I can't possibly allow myself to have pizza again this Saturday. It just can't happen. It won't happen.
